How To Prepare Kashaya Using The Kashaya Powder

Kashaya is an ayurvedic health drink prepared using the kashaya powder, milk and water with the sweetness from jaggery. Drinking Kashaya every day will keep your body prakruthis (vata, pitta and kapha) balanced.  It is not only healthy but tastes awesome too! With the Kashaya powder ready, here is the recipe to make kashaya.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp kashaya Powder
  • small piece ginger
  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • small piece Jaggery
  • few curry leaves
  • little turmeric powder

Method:

  1. On medium heat boil one cup of water with kashaya powder,
  2. curry leaves, jaggery, turmeric powder
  3. and crush ginger using mortar and pestle
  4. and add it the water
  5. let it boil for few minutes,
  6. Now add the milk,
  7. Again allow it to boil for few minutes,
  8. Turn off the heat and strain it to the cups,
  9. Enjoy the hot Kashaya!
