Dates Peanuts Laddu (Karjura Unde) kharjura kadlekayi unde – No Sugar, No Jaggery, No Ghee
These wholesome dates coconut peanut laddus are a perfect naturally sweet treat made without any added sugar, jaggery, ghee, or oil. The sweetness comes entirely from soft, rich dates (karjura), making them a healthy and guilt-free snack. Combined with roasted peanuts and coconut, these laddus are full of flavor, texture, and nourishment. Ingredients:
- 25 dates / karjura (pitted)
- 1 cup grated dried coconut
- 1 cup peanuts / groundnuts
- 2 cardamoms
- 2 cloves
Method:
- Dry roast the peanuts on medium heat until aromatic. Let them cool slightly, then rub and remove the skin.
- Grind the roasted peanuts into a coarse powder (not too fine).
- Add the pitted dates to the peanut mixture and pulse a few times until it comes together slightly. Do not over-grind.
- Transfer the mixture to a bowl. Crush the cardamom and cloves and add them to the mixture.
- Dry roast the grated coconut on low heat until lightly aromatic.
- Add half of the roasted coconut to the mixture.
- Slightly powder the remaining coconut and keep it aside for rolling.
- Combine everything well until evenly mixed.
Shape laddus:
- Take small portions of the mixture and shape into laddus (unde).
Coat:
- Roll each laddu in the powdered coconut.
Adjust if needed:
- If the mixture feels dry or hard to shape, add a couple more dates and mix again.

- Makes approximately 14 laddus (unde)
