  • few Okra/bendekayi

For grinding:

  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • juice of lime/lemon
  • 3 green chilies(depends on your preference)
  • coriander leaves
  • 2 tbsp grated coconut
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp jeera/cumin seeds


  1. Grind all the ingredients except bendekai, and squeeze the lemon. Add a little water if needed, then transfer the mixture to a bowl.
  2. Wash and dry the bendekai, then cut it in the middle as shown.
  3. Fill the masale into each bendekai following the same procedure.
  4. Repeat the process with the remaining bendekai.
  5. Choose tender okra, also known as bendekai, lady finger, or bhindi.
