Ellu Unde | Sesame Seeds Laddu | Til laddu | Chigali

Ellu Unde or  Sesame seeds Laddu / Til ladoo simple yet healthy, nutritious, and delicious sweet. This is one of the nagarapanchami sweet.
Sesame seeds are rich source of calcium, iron, niacin and copper. This is a very healthy alternative treat to our kids.

ನಾಗರಪಂಚಮಿ ಅಂದ್ರೆ ಅಣ್ಣ, ತಂಗಿ, ಅಕ್ಕ, ತಮ್ಮಂದಿರ ಹಬ್ಬ. ಇವತ್ತಿಗೆ ಎಳ್ಳು ಉಂಡೆ ಅಥವ ಚಿಗಲಿ ಒಂದು ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಕ ಸಿಹಿ. ಇಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಇದರ recipe video.

Ingredients to make ellu unde:

  • 1 cup sesame seeds
  • little more than ½ cup jaggery
  • 3 to 4 cardamom crushed into powder

MAKES AROUND 15 UNDE/LADDU:

Method:

  1. Heat the thick bottom pan on a medium heat.
  2. Dry roast the sesame seeds and allow it to cool.
  3. Grind the roasted seeds into a fine powder (consistency should be when you squeeze the fine powder you should be able to make a ball )
  4. Then add jaggery powder and cardamom powder.
  5. Just pulse enough to mx the jaggery, sesame powder and cardamom powder.
  6. Transfer it to a bowl, mix it.
  7. Take around 2 TBSP mix and make it into a ball shape.
  8. Repeat making the balls with remaining mix too.
